HUDA Housing Scheme

HUDA Housing Scheme may refer to the scheme being offered by the housing boards in Haryana in different urban estates. HUDA is the principal authority that has been entrusted with the task of overall development of urban infrastructure in the state. However, in practice, it does not construct houses on its own.

Instead it offers land and plots to registered co-operative group housing societies, welfare housing organizations and different government departments to build houses and allot the same to different user groups. Moreover, it also offers plots to individuals under a particular plot scheme in order to allow them to build houses on their own.

HUDA housing scheme is indeed a plot scheme as it is understood generally by people. During the last two years, HUDA has come up with a number of schemes for the allotment of residential plots. The major locations covered under these schemes are Pataudi, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Rewari, Kaithal, Sonipat, Bahadurgarh, Karnal, Panchkula and Rohtak. The current plot schemes are at Karnal and Rohtak, which have been announced in this year 2011. The draw results for most of these have already been made public and the plots are being allotted to the winners. According to the general rules, the allottees must complete the construction of a house within two years of allotment, though they can seek permission to extend this limit to a maximum of 13 years.

Housing Board Haryana

The Housing Board Haryana was constituted in the year 1971 with an objective to construct houses for general public. Though the general aim was to build houses for all, the board remained focused on the housing requirements of the weaker social sections. So far the board has constructed nearly 65,000 houses for general public and other social groups.

Over the years there has been a number of housing schemes that saw the allotment of these houses. Some the upcoming schemes of Housing Board Haryana (HBH) include three storeyed flats in Hansi and Narnaul for all categories, and three storeyed flats in Gurgaon, Faridabad, Dharuhera, and Ratia (Faridabad) for BPL Category.

HUDA Group Housing Scheme

In 1983, HUDA started developing group housing projects in major urban estates. The objective was to optimize the utilization of limited land resources and increase the number of available houses. So far it has allotted nearly 800 acres of land to different co-operative societies and government departments for the construction of group housing units.

The plots are allotted to these societies under different group housing schemes. The flats constructed under the scheme can be allotted to the member of the societies according the to the group housing allotment policies of HUDA. Moreover, permission may be granted for change in the size of dwelling units or number of membership, or transfer of membership, even after allotting these plots to end users.
