Indore Municipal Corporation

Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), also known as Indore Nagar Nigam in local language, is the prime administrative body in the city’s urban areas. The Mayor of the city acts as the head of this government institution. Indore Nagar Nigam came into existence as a result of Madhya Pradesh Nagar Palika Nigam Adhiniyam, 1956. The main objective behind its creation was to provide the city with a civic administration body that can look after the city’s infrastructural and maintenance requirements pertaining to roads & streets, water supply, drainage, sanitation, electricity, and so on.

The present activities of Indore Municipal Corporation delve deeper into the effective administration by maintaining records of death and birth in the urban area and assessing property values and levying property and other taxes. It is for this reason if a resident requires a birth certificate or death certificate in Indore or want to pay his/her property tax they must visit the office of Indore Municipal Corporation. Moreover, for purposes like tenders, trade license, building permission, national security pension, grievances or vacancies, you may also need to visit to the official address or open its website online.

Talking about the payment of property tax bills, the homeowners may find it convenient to now use its online payment interface. Using this facility, you can even pay water charges and rental taxes as well. The process remains the same in all these cases.

You just need to enter either your PIN number or service number, as applicable, correctly in the text box and press search to start paying your bill online. The website of the nagar nigam also allows you to search your property or online receipt, know your account, find current demand note and see the current bill using the World Wide Web.

The administrative areas under Indore Municipal Corporation are divided into 69 wards, which have been grouped into 15 zones. The councilors of each ward have representation in the Corporation. A 10 member body, known as the Mayor-in-Council, is appointed by the Mayor, which acts as the advisory committee of the Corporation. The Mayor is the head of this committee and the other nine councilors provide necessary assistance to him/her.
