MHADA Application Forms

It has now become possible to fill MHADA forms online. An announcement made by the MHADA chairman in the beginning of the year 2011 has opened the Internet gateway for the thousands who do not want to wait for too long standing in queues outside a bank branch. Though they need to come to the bank in order to submit the completed form, the move is seen as a good initiative towards ensuring the submission of a correctly-filled application form. A large number of forms are rejected during the scrutiny due to incomplete or wrong information contained in them. With online application, the information must be checked and corrected according to the rules and regulations before the system will allow the applicant to get a print out of the completed form.

MHADA Forms 2011

Applying to MHADA Housing Scheme 2011 will become easier with the possibility of doing so using the Internet. One just need to open the official website of MHADA and click a relevant link to visit the page where one can download the application form as well as fill it up online. If you choose to fill the form online, make sure to get a print out of the completed form and submit the same at a nearby Axis Bank branch. There are nearly 65 branches of the bank in Mumbai alone. It is also possible to submit the form at an Axis branch in Thane and Navi Mumbai.

Those who do not want to use the online facility can still apply the traditional way. However they can find volunteers in the branches who can help them fill out the form correctly. With such kind of initiatives, it is becoming clear that MHADA wants to reduce the number of applications that are rejected during the scrutiny phase. The efforts will pay as more and more genuine applicants can be put through the lottery system, which will decide the name of the winners who could be allotted the flats put for sale this year.

The latest housing scheme of 2011 will offer nearly 4,000 flats for sale, mainly under the low- and middle-income group categories. There are also a few flats for hi-end customers. The areas where these flats are located include Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Versova, Sion and Malwani. The application process starts on April 27, 2011 and the last date for the submission of completed forms is May 16, 2011. The lottery result date is May 31, 2011. MHADA is expected to announce similar housing schemes for allotments of houses in Pune and Nagpur this year.

Earlier MHADA has announced housing schemes in 2009 and 2010, the lottery results of which have now been made public. The allotment process is in the final stage and most winners have already got the possession of the relevant MHADA flats. Last lottery was for the allotment of 6,990 flats for families of retrenched mill-workers. The application forms were then made available through the branches of Saraswat Bank. Indeed MHADA had partnered with Saraswat Bank at most occasion in the past and also with banks like HDFC Bank at some occasions. However, this time round the responsibility is given to Axis Bank branches in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane.
