Pune Property Tax is collected by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for residential and commercial properties lying within its jurisdiction. The areas lying in and around the Pimpri-Chinchwad region, a suburb of Pune, are served by another government body known as Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), which is the de jure authority to collect property tax in these areas. The assessment of the annual rateable value (ARV) and the collection of property tax in cantonment area are carried out by Pune Cantonment Board (PCB).

PMC, which is also known officially as Pune Mahanagar Palika, has divided the entire city area into 48 wards for the purpose of property tax collections and providing other civic services. To serve citizens better, the Corporation has taken initiative for e-Governance. As a result, property owners can use the online service being made available through its portal for anything regarding Pune property tax.

Pune Property Tax Online

The online platform of Pune Municipal Corporation allows you to get property tax details for citizen and pay your property tax online through a secured transaction procedure. To see the due details you need to select the type of property – occupier, peth or flat, and provide the complete account number including Section ID and Peth ID.

After submitting the required information, you will see the complete details of your property and the tax amount due on you till the current financial year. Now you can click the button Pay Amount to open the payment gateway provided by HDFC and ICICI Bank. The payment can be made through credit card or any other card powered by either Visa or MasterCard. Note that 2% service charge will apply for making online payment through Debit/Credit Card.

The online service provided by PMC also allows you to check details of the tax bills you have already paid and perform search by name. Moreover, you can send a request for a name change also. Pune follows the rateable tax system, which uses the maximum rent a property can fetch as the base for value assessment and property tax calculation. The receipt can be generated online or it can be had within three days through mail as well.

The property tax rate, on the other hand, keeps on changing every year for all kinds of taxable properties.
